I also collect political buttons and have found, in Canada anyway, that few antique stores ever have them in stock so the staff at stores are unliklely to know much about them. There are websites of sellers of political memorabilia, outside of eBay. Try to find them and see what they're charging to give you an idea. I've gotten some 1960s political buttons on eBay - good ones - for less than $10 each. Buttons do go back a long way and the really old ones are worth more. I However yours might be especially rare. Have a look at these links for a start.

Go to CoinWorld.com or check with PCGS or some other reputable coin dealer. They may have other sites you can check or know themselves.
