Yes!!! Scary in a thrilling way. The first 20 minutes my stomach was in a knot. I wanted Tom Cruise's character to get back to his kids pronto! There were a lot of close calls that only main characters get to survive. I think Steven Spielberg did a great job!

In a surface kind of way it was-sort of like having some one jump out at you kind of scary. Not in a psychological way.
That being said, I liked the movie in spite of my serious dislike for Tom Cruise.

The remake with Tom Cruise, no. The original B/W version, yes.
