Because they draft overrated hypocondriac pu**ies like Wood and Prior who go on the DL every other week for a mosquito bite and hangnails. Worst no heart pitchers I've ever seen, and Dusty Baker sucks as a manager, this whole team is an abortion. F the Cubs.

First of all, they do NOT WANT TO WIN VERY MUCH.

Secondly, they (management) are NOT willing to bring people in to do the job (because that costs too much).

Thirdly, they always blame their MOST RECENT brush with success on a guy named Bartman, who was in the stands and got a souvenir (instead of their player catching the ball).

total lack of any financial incentive to win. Regardless of record the faithful still fill Wrigley and WGN still makes ridiculous amounts of money telivising their games.

because they have bad pitching except for Zamberano. And the manager is stupid and bad. they have option if they want to keep or not. But obvious they won't keep him. And, their best hitter from last year, Derrek Lee got hurt. And, they can't really produce offense. Pitching kept them from hurting themselves.

inuries to their pitching staff have sidelined their chances. if mark prior and kerry wood could stay healty over a full year, they would be a tough team to beat.
