Karen, I agree..very weird.. but i don't think she has lived like that her whole life....but what about the rest of us?? LOL.. hell i dont; even own a house!! HAHAHA

Yep I have that CD.
I'm not American, but it is such a great, touching song. I love it.
I really like the line
"How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell"
Awesome. It's really moving and honest. And I like that her tone in it isn't angry or accusing (like how most people are towards President Bush), it's more understated and low-key honesty.
** I do think it's kind of ironic (or may hypocritical) that in Dear Mr. President, she is telling President Bush how hard it is to be poor, and how hard it is to build a home out of a cardboard box, but then elsewhere on the album (two songs later, I believe) one of the lyrics is "I could fit your whole house in my swimming pool". WTF?
