Here is another proof that western civilizations do not tolerate other civilizations and cultures as they claim....In Egypt where I live the Christmas is not an Islamic holiday but stamps are issued and Christians and some Muslims too celebrate..recently it became a day off from work too...It's the same in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocoo, Tunisia, Algeria, Palestine....Christian citizens in the Arab world have the same rights as Muslim citizens...we have Christian ministers..we had a Christian prime minister also in Egypt...I never heard about a Muslim minister in USA or UK although they have Muslim citizens too....And saying Islam is threatening democracy haven't you noticed that Iran has turned to democracy since more than 30 years? or because It's Islamic It's a bad democracy? A government chosen by the people and a free Parliament ...... Or because It's against the American objectives in the mid-east it's an evil democracy?
Didn't Hamas win the elections in Palestine...Is that democracy a bad democracy too? Please give Muslims some respect as they give to non Muslim citizens in their countries.

The United States is a diverse nation, and we need to celebrate holidays by those who are some other religion than Christianity if we are to justify issuing Christmas stamps every year.
From a practical standpoint, the Eid stamps have sold very well since they first came out five years ago, which is why they were re-ssued in the 37-cent version after the rates went up, and why they will soon be reissued in a 39-cent version for the now-current first-class rate.
There are about a hundred different stamp designs issued by the U/S. Postal Service each year. If you don't like one, choose another. The more open and accepting of other cultures/religions we are, the stronger it makes our country.

The thing is, an Islamic government would not support any other religions. So, no, they have not issued any stamps for other religions' holidays.
The other thing to remember is that the US government is non-religious. They issue stamps for any religious holiday someone thinks up a stamp for. It doesn't matter what other governments do. It matters what this government does, and if the USPS issues a stamp for one religion, they have to be prepared to issue a stamp for any religion. They are celebrating the diversity of this country.
Groups outside the US who threaten our country do not represent the entire religion of Islam. To believe it is Islam that threatens the US is infantile. It is angry, violent terrorists who threaten us. Some of them happen to claim to follow Islam. However, they have strayed far from the religion.

most muslim countries have a standerized stamps of there country....and plz get over it..in most islamic country there arent a lot of non muslim people living there but there are a lot of muslim people living here in the us.. and one of the reasons the us gov't did this is to sort of show the world that us gov't does not hate muslims (even though they do) so why don't you wonder that why did they have stamps after the war and not before after all the muslim holiday has been around since forever...... why now? Think!!! besides they have x-mass stamps, cards, gift ceritificates and every thing in Pakistan

Yes, some Islamic countries print xmas stamps for several reasons, including the fact that Jesus is cited as a prophet in the Koran. The point I think youre missing is that the US is broad minded enough and comfortable enough in its position in the world community that it can appreciate a multitude of faiths. Islam isn't the threat, extremeists are. Stamps rise above political clap trap.

Not sure what you are talking about. Who told you stamps for non-Muslim occassions are not issued in Muslim countries? In Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and other Muslim populated countries govt allows such stamps. Even it's a holiday on Christmas and other major non-Muslim occassions. In Bangladesh, the tv channels show special programs on Christmas, where more than 86% people are Muslims.
Get your facts straight.

At least Islamic countries believe in and respect Jesus. All Muslims believe in Jesus and Moses, love and respect them. We do not need to have a stamp to prove that while USA is having stamps and killing Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan and supplying weapons to those who kill Muslims in Lebanon. Please do not make any stamps and do not kill Muslims and get out of Islamic countries.

From what I have read of nations that are ruled by Islamic leaders, I would bet NO! They are historically centered on Islam and there is no room or flexibility for anything else.
