Yes, first semester. When classes start, you'll be too busy most of the time to be homesick and you'll have made at least 2 or 3 new, good friends. To deal with it now, maybe take some long walks to explore the campus and the town. That's what I did.

Oh yes. Our son couldn't wait to leave home. Didn't know how good he had it.
But he got a job, studied, went to classes and went out with his friends(which I don't advice a lot of). He came home quite frequently, but that got less and less too.
I'm sure your parents miss you too. Pick up the cell phone and give them a call. Believe me they would love you for it.
Things will get better and you will adjust. Be glad you can go to college, which was how I coped with our son being gone. After all he was starting a new life too.

Yes it is very normal. Most young people have the same problem. Your school will probably have many many activities for you guys in the early days to keep you ocupied and even discuss your feelings. Dont worry you will be ok. Soon many people will want to be your friend and you will be ok. It just might take a while be patient and try to stay busy. This is the most exciting time in your life.

It's perfectly normal. When I first started college, I kept havign weird dreams and trouble sleeping. It made me very cranky.
As for suggestions, I think it would be a good idea to make it a habit of calling your family and friends every weekend. Also, go out onto your campus and get involved in clubs. Make new friends

It is normal. My daughter is an American U... she was homesick the first few months. Now she's in her 3rd year and she never wants to be home.

Yes, totally. Before I moved to college (many many years ago), I was excited and looking forward to it. The day my dad dropped me off at the train station, as I was walking up the stairs to the train platforms, I just started to cry. It was strange, because I wasn't thinking about leaving my family or the challenges of school or anything like that. I wasn't even nervous. I guess I was just emotional on a subconscious level.

It is definitely normal to miss home. Ask your parents to write you often, and to occasionally send a care package. You can use your response letters for good grades in Literature too! It's ok if you miss them, remeber you'll be getting chances during the school year to visit home.

Yeah its nomal, you've been at home with your parents for yu entire life and now you've just uprooted to set a future for yourself but in the process you still wish you were at home...................Don't you just wish the school you chose was a few minutes away from home?......Then if you do then its a 95% chance you wouldn't have chosen that school. All this will soon pass, meet new people, learn and see things you've never seen and you'll enjoy this and you'll never want to live with your parents again; only if you have to.
