White willow bark will ease pain. Try a tincture of it. Also a valerian-passion flower-damiana tincture would ease pain.

Depends on the pain. I tried white willow bark for an acute ankle sprain and it didn't do much, but maybe I didn't take enough of it or I had some poor quality stuff.
I've used bromelein, both as a pill form (expensive) and also by just eating fresh pineapple (yum!) for pain associated with inflammation and that did help quite a bit. YMMV
If it is a chronic muscular-skeletal pain, try bodywork, chiropractic or acupuncture. They'll help get to the root cause of the pain instead of simply medicating it, but sometimes medicating is all we can do for the moment.
good luck!

I know that pain is extremely uncomfortable and a hindrance to daily living, but it's really more important to find the CAUSE of the pain than to mask up the SYMPTOMS with medications.
Taking pain relievers just stop your brain from feeling the pain, but meanwhile your body is still suffering from that which is causing the pain. And if you don't address the problem, you have the potential to get worse. We don't even know where your pain is coming from. Is it headaches, back or neck pain, pain in the limbs, chest, or just a general feeling of aches? Try talking to your doctor to see if there is a more serious or immediate threat to your health.

Wobenzyme is an ezyme that has been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory and has been studied in Germany with it's effects on post-operative pain and in mild to moderate rheumatoid arthritis.
The mangosteen fruit (not related to mangos) also has a compound that works in the same mechanism as celebrex and vioxx (without the risk of heart attack of course). The mangosteen cannot be imported into the US as a whole fruit, but is available in a puree such as Xango.

Monavie juice is helpful in some painful conditions. It relieved my wife's tendenitis and bursitis. Two nurses in the hospital where I work have gotten excellent results for pain in their knees. Three of my customers say it has stopped their migraines.

I've heard that feverfew tea works for pain. I don't use it, but I've heard it works. I use ibuprofen -- or shouldn't I say that in the Alternative Meidicinals section?
