Will it help with spit up issues or is it strictly for babies with gas problems?

I have tried Carnation Good Start as well as Enfamil Gentle Ease but I have not seen an improvment. I was hoping the Lactose free would help because I am trying to avoid Soy and don't really look forward to the inflated cost of hypoallergenic formula.

It might help your baby, but it sure didn't do a thing for mine. His doctor recommended that we try it but no luck. Some babies are born spitters. Mine sure is. Although he's getting much better now, he's 8 months and sitting up, the only time he spits now is when he's lying on his tummy, and that's minimal too. His doctor explained that some babies are born this way and that she's even see toddlers walking, running, talking, and still spitting up. It's hard for us to get used to because his sister never once in her babyhood spit up. She's two now and still no vomiting. Gee, I hope she's not storing it... eeuuwww.... Good luck, it can't hurt to try it, just see your doctor first for the go-ahead.

We had the same problem, I was breastfeeding but due to major sickness and we were prescribed lactose free (sma Wysoy formula) - wasn't happy about not feeding her myself but it worked a treat and we've only just been able to change her on to normal cows milk (she's 17 months)..Worked for us.

My son was on every formula u could imagine,Soy,Alimentum and regular he has acid reflux, switching formulas did not help w/spitting up.Cereal helped a little. He had to have cereal mixed in his bottle from 1mth to 12 mths to thicken it up so he would'nt spit as much.

my son spit up all the time before we switched him to soy formula. it's worth a try and it's not going to hurt them. as for the gas, i don't know if it will help or not. every baby i have ever been around is gassy. try some gas drops.

If the spit up is a result of an allergy to milk, then yes it would help, but your doctor could tell better than you. Since there are other symptoms besides just spitting up.

We had to use Nutramigen for our daughter. It is lactose, milk and soy free. Was very expensive but our doctor supplied most of it for us as he received free samples (ie cases) from the supplier.

It will also help with spit up issues. Babies that spit up, tend to have gas problems too.

Isomil with iron is the best for colicky babies, and for babies that spit up.

My son didn't drink milk-based products without excruciatingly painful digestive issues, so we used the lactose free formula and he was fine.
