Then again im very self concious and i feel no college would want to give me admission even tho I am goin to get an A.A also b/c i want to reapply as a transfer after i didnt get in as a freshman and im wondering if that would jeopardize me from going in as a transfer?

A) why the hell would you want to leave Miami of all places???
B) all colleges are open to students whether they be newbies or transfers. bottom line is that it equals money for them
C) usually going in as a transfer betters your chances since they can see that your scores and grades from other colleges are good. reason they may have not picked you earlier before is bcuz of that factor. maybe they weren't sure if you'd be a good fit in their school but having had some college expereince and some grades to show for it, they'd be more willing to grant you acceptance this time around,
D) as far as the going away from home thing, it's totally up to you. I would suggest you stay in miami but I'm sure you've seen all and done everything there right? if you do decide to go elsewhere i would recommend you go out of state and see some other places. yes, it's all about education first but it's also about meeting new people and seeing different places too. that's the college expereicene and you should at least dabble in it a bit.

Yes, it is great from what I've heard. Even going abroad to study in another college in another country is the best experience of all. When I get to college I plan to do that. Every college has financial aid that will pay for your education. You won't have to pay it back either (Pell Grants, etc.). Registration is waived if you can't afford it. I'm assuming you are in a community college. If so, you can apply for a transfer to a 2 yr. or 4 yr. college. It all boils down to having a good GPA and taking the courses needed for transfer while in a community college. If you're not in a community college and you go to a regular college, then apply for atransfer to another college while there, I doubt if it can bedone. At least in California you can't.

I applied to my number one school as a senior in high school, didn't get in, and ended up going somewhere else for the first year and a half of college. I decided to reapply to that original school as a transfer and I got in. You shoud at least try it, especially if you have been doing well in school.

As for the staying home or going away question, each has its perks. I'm 8 hours from home and I love it because I have a lot of independence. It's up to the individual and none of us, except you, can make that decision.

You should choose the school that has the best resources for whatever specific subject you want to study, and also decide by which school offers you the best financial aid package. Not by location.

It is only worth it if your local college does not offer the major that you want to concentrate on or if your local college does not provide you with financial aide.
