I've found websites referring to aprk and ride, but no specifics, such as where it is, how much it costs and can you park there overnight, as i'm staying in the city centre.

One park and ride is based near Liverpool John Lennon Airport, its called Liverpool South Parkway. There you can get a bus or train into Liverpool City Centre(Bus -20 min==Train 10 min approx). Don't know if you can park overnight but don't see why not. If staying in hotel in centre they might have own car park so would try and find out first. You con buy a daily off-peak Saveaway Ticket with prices for adults starting at £2.10. Peak times are 0630-0930 then 1600-1800 Monday to Friday. The £2.10 ticket gives you unlimited travel for the day on local bus and trains for the journey you would need. Liverpool really isn't that bad for parking. I think you will find that Park and Ride is at stations, like on the Wirral. so you can go into Liverpool by train. If you are staying in the city centre you should find a parking spot.

Leave your car in Manchester, it's naucht but a giant car park, especially near Old Trafford. From Manchester, trains to Liverpool are quick and frequent.

Not quite sure where you're coming from, and whereabouts you are staying. Most hotels have their own car parks. Park and rides are associated with train stations, Lime Street station will have one. And there is also, Moorfields, Central.
