My orthopedic surgeon suggested "kinesio taping" for my knee as part of my physical therapy. Has anyone tried it or used it? What does it entail? It looks kind of silly to me.

Taping utilized as a way to provide neuromuscular re-education to the knee when there is a patella tracking problem. It has worked for several of my patients with knee pain. It should decrease pain when squatting and stair negotiation. Don't knock it until your physical therapist trys it. You will know immediately if it will benefit you. If it doesn't, you take the tape off and try something else.
