More specifically, when you open a folder, it opens up in it's own window correct? By default, the background of that window is white, how can change the background of that window into an image?

It's possible in Windows '98 for sure (Look for Customize... or Customize Folder... or something like that in the menus).

I know it can be done in XP too. (I did it by mistake!)
I checked to the menus, control panel & all this things, but I didn't find it!

To add an image as the background for windows: 1. right click the window screen. 2. Go to Properties..3. There will be a dialog box pop up that's says "Display properties at the top. Choose "desktop". 4, Go to "Browse" and click on it. 5. Then find the folder that has the image you want to make for your background and click on it. Open the Image. You will be able to see your image on the Properties display Dialog box. Apply and it will save on your windows as a background. Also, you can stretch the image to fit your windows by choose from the "Position" box. You can center it, stretch it, or make it tiles. then apply your sittings and that's it...hope I have been some help to you!!!!

honestly, i don't think it's possible. i know on windows you can make an image your background image for your desktop only. unless, you want to add it to a background that is associated with the internet (besides your homepage - unless it's a personal one).

you could try to change the default "color", but not to an image. go to start/programs/control panel and play around with the display.
