The baby IS drowned while inside of you. Technically the biological definition of the word 'drown' means to have water in the lungs.
But, besides that, a baby requires a 100 % adequate nutritional source, - that also includes oxygen and carrying away of CO2. The umbilical cord does all that.
The mother carries the baby and the burden.

ok that fluid is a nutrient rich fluid that helps growth and development of the baby look at an egg the baby is the yolk in the center and later begins to form now to answer your question the babys lungs do not develop till the last trimester untill the baby is actualy delivered the baby dose not breate, eat, or drink like we do the baby is feed and provided oxygen through the umbilical cord by the host (the mother) if you have ever seen a delivery on tv ect when the baby is deliverd the dr. removes mucus from the babys nose and mouth in order so the baby can take its first breath that mucus is what keeps the baby from breating in the liquid surounding it if the mother stops breathing so dose the baby unless the baby can be safely delivered before it is harmed from lack of oxygen

The fetus(baby) gets all of its oxygen and nutrients from its mommy. The baby's lungs and respiratory system do not start working until the baby takes its first breath at birth. That's why that first breath is so important.

a baby inside a woman actually has the ability to breathe in fuid and porcess oxygen from the fluid in its lungs. This is what we all were able to do at that stage before we were born and took our first breath of life.

Because it doesn't use its lungs for breathing. The baby gets its oxygen from mothers blood down the umbilicalcord, along with all the other nutrients needed for survival.
