A lot of what goes on today went on many years ago. The only difference was media coverage. That and the fact these days people aren't so ashamed as yesteryear, and pregnant children and so on does not carry the same stigma on the family as it once did so it's no longer 'Hushed up'. Pregnant teenagers and some single parents get so much help these days it is an incentive for them to do what they do... they get pampered and mollycoddled all the way rather than given a severe talking to and hardship...

I do think though that it is getting visibly worse but what can we expect?

We also seem to let all sorts of illiterate scum stay in the country even though a lot are illegal immigrants, then we are surprised at the falling standards of social behaviour... what the hell do people expect !!

Punishment is a joke these days and since the liberal limp wrist-ed lefties were given some sort of power to re-write the law the punishment will never fit the crime. Other countries criminal justice systems are ruthless compared to ours but crime is a hell of a lot less as people know if they are caught they are done for....

Bring back corporal punishment and much tougher jail sentences. It is the only way to get back on track...

BTW, ridiculous motoring convictions not included... we want real crime sorted not the excessive demonetisation of the average driver... the easy target........

Pregnant women should be given the right of way. And you seem a bit naive, these things have been happening for years. People being stabbed, and people acting aggressive is nothing new. We are just as savage and primitive as we were a 1000 years ago, just with better technology.

Yes I do. If one analyses this issue I am sure one would find that the main reason is today we have little tolerance for anybody & nobody, be it across our nation, or simply even during a tube ride. We are always out to get the best out of any situation at any cost irrespective of others feelings or reaction just to satisfy our ever enlarging ego & satisfy our gurus who constantly shouts win, win my boy never lose. The reasone behind this debacle I think is the decreasing role spirituality & GOD plays in our life today. With that humility, compasion has gone out of the window resulting in a unsensative society.

Sadly we have become an incredibly selfish society. The behaviour I witness on a day to day basis in places like the supermarket, on the road, walking down the street etc leaves me frankly speechless. And yet everyone thinks they are a good person and it's not them. So who are these people? It's sad, scary and I wish I knew how to make it better. It scares me for the future of my children.

I think it has gone downhill. There's so much anger, enmity, paranoia, and suspicion toward our fellow human beings. Even your question shows your own personal anger. I must say I've never had a problem with pregnant women at supermarkets.

in the 40s the worst problem in high school was chewing gum, now it's a war zone full of drugs, prostitution, gambling, murder. Society is going down in the Western world. If you look through history you see a recurring pattern. I doubt our culture will survive the next 200 years.

The real problem is TV. Before TV, parents used to keep their children in, as a diversion...to have something to talk to/about.

Since TV, they want their kids to be out, so that they can watch their reality TV shows uninterrupted. They don't care what the kids are up to, or how late they stay out.

The behaviour of society has been going downhill for a long time and unless laws are enforced to control these louts then things will really go to the dogs. and law abiding people won't dare venture out.

The mind creates our lives. And the experiences that have deteriorated over the years are a result of the negativity of this creation. You will reap what you sow.

Yep morals and standards are as low as they could possibly be.
Hence the way society is. Everyman out for himself .
