for me it depends on the alternatives too. Granted he wants to save my home state, but I don't think he's a strong enough speaker.

No. I wouldn't vote for a right-wing nut job like him, even though compared with the current president, he looks downright moderate.

He would definately be one of my choices, but like you said, it would depend on his running-mate and his opponents.
