I think the black would be best. If you have to ask then you are not feeling too sure and you would be wondering about it all night. You can never go wrong with the little black dress and remember, less is more when it comes to dressing it up. You want to look elegant. Think Audrey Hepburn. You could wear the red on the second date, depending how the dinner date goes. Have a lovely evening.

Black is best in more formal situations. On a first date, you want to impress the guy with how (potentially) sexy you are. So go for the red, absolutely!

Go with black unless it makes you look washed-out. For a first date red might send the wrong message. You can never go wrong with black if you know how to accessorise with some good earrings, etc.

black is less loud if u dont really want to draw attention to urself .
red is the ultra hot colour and makes everyone look at its overall sexyness.
It is a bit worrying that your name is richard..
but if u r a man maybe a black dress would be better so people dont look at you as much...
watever u wear im sure ull look great.
enjoy ur date!

I would say red just because black is usually the 'most formal color'.
It'll show that you're exciting or something,
not afraid to wear something other than the 'safe, can't-go-wrong-in-this black dress'

Black defiitely, red is a bit racey, but depends whether or not you want to give him the right impression or not. I have a red dress by the way, so nothing against red generally.

It depends.
Both are good for going to a restaurant for a meal or such but they can give different messages.
If you are younger and want a bit more attention then go with red. It is very vibrant and is more eyecatching than black.
If you are maybe older or want the more mature look go for black. Its sleek and sophisticated and can look very sexy - great for impressing your date.
If I was in your position I would go for black but it is up to you as to which suits your environment and personality best.
