The most efficient piece of software to accomplish this is Sothink's SWF Decompiler.

It even installs a button in your browser for directly saving ALL Flash files in the page you are presently viewing! I use it all the time.

You could even open up the swf file and retrieve graphics and songs from within the Flash file...

Best bet is to get Firefox http://www.firefox.com it kick Internet Explorers a*se and has free extentions that make i very easy to download picture etc, the extention you want is "download embedded". lets you see all the embedded objects on the page including flash avi mp3 etc then download them. firefox and all the extentions are free so far better than paying for a program, and it is better anyway.
