So I was in a rush today and accidently knocked over an applicator bottle of red hair dye onto the floor. Of course it was uncapped.

It splattered on the unstained wood door, wood edging, the toilet seat (protected wood seat) and the tile floor. I am not worried about the seat or the floor, as I got most of that up and I know the rest will fade in time. I am worried about the unstained (untreated) wood that was splattered fairly nicely. I am a renter, and I am completely freaked out.

Any suggestions? HELP!!!

if it is unstained you can either paint it or sand it... I doubt you will be able to remove the stain with any chemical or cleaner. You could consider replacing the piece of wood if the issue is that big. Maybe explain the situation to the landlord, its not like you took hammers to the walls...

Forget it. If the dye is any good it will have penetrated the wood and you will have to sand down a substantial amount. You can try bleach or peroxide but usually dye's can resist disappearing all together and you will see where the dye hit.

I suggest you find a handy person that knows how to handle a plain.

Use a fine piece of sand paper and lightly sand it out. Use wood oil and oil the wood. (I oil all my furniture several times a year to keep it moisturized).

You probably will not be able to get it off.
