Freemasonry is a fraternal organization whose membership is held together by shared moral and metaphysical ideals and—in most of its branches—by a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.

The fraternity of Freemasonry uses the allegorical metaphors of operative stonemasons' tools and implements, to convey what is most generally defined as: A peculiar (some say particular or beautiful) system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.

It is an esoteric society only in that certain aspects are private;

By all means reasearch as much as your hearts content about the Masonic fraternity but keep in mind that anyone can put something on the internet true or not. 14 or 15 of our Presidents
were Masons most of General Washingtons officers (He knew he could trust them) and most of the founding fathers like Benjermin Franklin and Paul Revere to name a few.( As a matter of fact Revere was captured by the British and released after he identified himself as a Mason). Also they are a secret society as people claim when they in reality are a society of secrets. All masonc rituals and teachings are plastered all over the internet. Some words, keys and grips are kept as secret as possible in this day and age. The bottom line is alot of people have accused the Masons of everything from Satanism to creating a plot to take over the world. They give millions of dollars a day to various charities and the Shriners (also a masonic branch) provide 8 million dollars a day to fund each of thier hospitals that treat children at no charge. Good luck with your seach.

I'm amazed to see this question right now.,Iv'e noticed the Free Masons insignia on some of the guys I see at work right after going to an old cemetary.I quesse I never paid attention befor.While my boyfreind and I were looking at the headstones of the "masons", he mentioned that his ex boss had been one.So I googled and found all kinds of info.I must tell you you can only become one thru another member, and it's highly intriquing some of the history.Go check it out I still don't know what to make of it.P,S. : one of the guys I've seen wearing this ring is a real moron which surprised me.

At one time they were pretty good, but now from the looks of most brick work they have been getting sloppy.
