First thing when i meet a guy i like i give him my phone number not a email addresses. And if a guy i like asked me to a party and i was busy i would suggest another time we could get together. Hate to be blunt it just does not seem like she is interested but i might be wrong. Just email her a brief message asking her when would be a good time for you to take her to see a movie or something her response will tell you what you need to know.
Good luck

What do you mean by YOUNG lady? A 30 yr old man to a 18 to 25 yr old is girl is to old at a partying girls stage anyway. That's what my 21 yr old says any way. Don't be pushy , A simple e-mail just to say hi is OK. You have already made a move, Let her make the next one. If she is interested in you, she will

I think you should also have exchanged phone numbers, since emails tend to be impersonal.
So, maybe she honestly couldn't go to the party, don't be disheartened by that. Maybe she felt that you inviting her to a big event where she would be the 'new' girl intimidating, I don't know. Invite her for a coffe, dinner, movies, I don't know, something that you like to do, and that you think she can be intrested.
Don't turn her off by one refusal.
Good luck!

Keep the e-mails limited. Any more than twice without a reply is likely to come off as too pushy, to put it nicely. Besides, anyone who won't take the time to answer a two-minute e-mail isn't worth taking the time to pursue.

Sounds like she is not interested. If she stated she was busy but didn't leave the door open (as in: I am busy but would like to go out with you at a later time), then she is NOT interested. Move on.

first of all if she was really interested she would have given you something other than her email, secondly if there's a major difference in age she might just be messing with your head....since she said shes too busy, let her contact u next time and if not then find someone else to email......

i have never been a believer of all of those little, made-up rules on dating. everybody is different- maybe she likes assertive. do whatever YOU feel is right. what's the worst that can happen? so she says no- move on because she isn't that interested in you if she's putting you off every time you make and advancement.

First of all she might be busy. Ask her out a couple more times. Wait two weeks and ask and then ask in another two weeks. If she happens to be "busy" these times as well, move on.

maybe she was busy but remember that if you really like someone you can change your plans and make a time off to go out with the person you like...so i dont know maybe the first time she couldnt try a second time
but if she says no then forget about her and move on
