Is the speed of a USB 2.0 faster than a SATA II HDD?

Question

Just wondering which is fastest since I may end up using USB 2.0 for an external HDD.

I was referring to the transfer rates of both....if that helps.

I thought SATA I was 150MBs and SATA II was 300 MBs....and I thought USB 2.0 was 480mbs.

This is confusing.

Anry, where did you get that? USB 2.0 moves 480Mbps and SATA II moves 3Gbps, of course SATA II is faster, all internal buses are faster than external, in MOST cases.

Of course not, USB 2.0 moving 2 MB per/second but HDD sata 100 MB/second.
