Air Jordan Rules (June 14, 1998)

With 41 seconds remaining in Game Six of the 1998 NBA Finals,

the Chicago Bulls trailed the Utah Jazz 86-83. That's when

Michael Jordan went into action. MJ drove coast to coast with a

layup to pull the Bulls within one point. On Utah's next

possession, Jordan stripped the ball from Karl Malone, dribbled

upcourt, pump-faked Bryon Russell, elevated and drained a 17-

foot jumpshot, giving the Bulls a 87-86 lead with 5.2 seconds left.

John Stockton's desperation three-pointer fell short and the Bulls

had their second three-peat. Jordan's amazing shot and 45-point

performance closed the chapter on his magnificent career in

Chicago.

1980 US Olympic Hockey team beating the Soviet Union. Granted, there are people in other countires who might disagree. It was great to see a group of inexperienced, but well trained college kids between a team of world class veterans. And it came at a time when the USA was having problems around the world.
