I am going to be in a paegant this year, as I was last year. My shoes were clunky, and made it hard to move the right way. Do you think it would be stupid if I wore balet slippers this year, and just got my dress tailored shorter.

Don't wear ballet slippers for a pageant. The judges will look harshly at that. Just get a pair of shoes that are comfortable this year.

Ballet slippers are no better than wearing your house shoes honey. Judges in pageants are looking for poise, style, and grace. You need to find an eloquent DRESS shoe that YOU are comfortable in, weather it be a half inch heel, or a 4 inch heel. Id stay away from "clunky" as well, because if you cant even move in your pageant wear, the judges see that! Find something graceful that fits your dress and , more importantly, you, and you should have no problem wowing them all! When youre confident..everyone knows it!

Depends on the type of pageant...if you are being judged on style, don't wear the ballet slippers!

My advice is to find great shoes with rubberized soles...they don't make the noise and are much more comfortable. You can even take some sexy stilletos to a shoe repair shop and have the rubberized soles put on. I used to sing and was involved in performing arts through college and that it what us die-hards would do in order to wear the awesome shoes!

IF you wear stilletos, ask the shoe repair guy to put heel protectors on as well...they strengthen the heel and keep the "point" from wearing out!

You should wear what you're most comfortable in, besides I've been seeing a lot of balet-slipper style shoes lately, if you wanted some comfortable and good looking ones you should try these stores:
JCPenny(for affordable, everyday style)
Keds(for unique prints)
Macy's may even have them.
Good Luck!!

It depends on how short your dress is. If you are being judged in this pageant i think the judges would frown upon ballet slippers. If your dress is longer I would say go for the slippers :)

i think you should wear heels
well, actually it depends
are you tall?
cuz if you are then you probably have an exception
but if your kinda short,
then you should wear heels and if the ones you got are too clunky then you should just go out and buy a new pair if you have the time and the money

Ballet flats are too casual. Try a kitten-heeled shoe, which has a narrow heel that is very low (usually one inch or so) and no platform. See the following examples:

i used to be in beauty pageants and i have dome that and i have never goten less than third place so yes....i think that ballet slippers with your dress tailored shorter would be beautiful and much more eloquent than clunky clodhoppers and easier to move in...........best of luck in the pageant

If you felt really strongly about wearing ballet slippers than do that. But just remember it would be very unflattering to your legs and your butt.
