common sense ok heres an example when your pencil brakes..what do you do? YOU SHARPEN THE PENCIL that's common sense some stuff in life u don't need to ask questions and everyone knows what to do

Well, today common sense is disguised as " political correctness "
Ya know, saying the right things at the right time.
Common sense USED to be good judgment.
But then you have " book smarts "too which has nothing to do do with common sense.

Normally we have 5 senses and i call common sense the sixth sense. This is something that needs to be brought with us everywhere we go. It is like wisdom to make the right decision or comment in a spur of the moment without buttling an eyelash.

Common sense is little more that the ability to reason. An example would be that since you know that when you drop something it falls "down," it follows that objects would roll "down" a slope, or that water runs "down hill." In other words, if this happens because of that, a similar event must happen in much the same way. Something one can determine with little or no formal education.

It's realizing what the consequences of one's actions might be. Thinking about the potential outcome of an event w/out acting impulsively.
For instance, common sense would dictate that you not jump out in front of traffic w/out expecting to get injured.
