Do we need a school emergency kit for him if he had one last year? Does anybody know? I forgot to call the school yesterday.

If it's on the list of items that the teacher requires, then yes. If not, then no. You will get a list either mailed to you or given to you on the first day of school.

no i dont think you need one (but make sure the food isnt expired yuck) but ya i dont think u need one cuz that would also be a waste of money and sum ppl in my school that went on 2 the next grade said the food in their kit was still good

if you don't know, best prepare one just in case they say yes. then if they say no, take it back home with you.
