These are my faves: The Ring (pt 1), The Grudge, Sixth Sense, The Shining, Omen (old version) pt 1 & 2, What Lies Beneath, Poltergeist 1&2, Sleepy Hollow.
Good horror movies are hard to find, unless yer into aliens, zombies and slash. I prefer the less graphic ones.

Puppet Master ... Ju On ... Nightmare on Elm's Street ... Dead Alive ... and I've never watched The Exorcist, but I heard that people actually passed out when watching it in the theatre ... but then again, that was during the '70's, I think, so people may have been more wimpy or w/e. =) Anyways, my suggestion? Look for cheap movies. Sure, half of them will suck, but the other half may actually be quality stuff, because in my opinion, most big studio horror movies these days overthink things, and well, the movies end up being packed with too much theory and detail and supposed "suspense" but lack actual horror, which is the whole point of watching a horror movies. Oh, and watch Saw I & II if you haven't already. ^^ And watch this Asian movie called ... Dumplings, I think o_O Yesh, find Asian horror movies, our minds are messed up, lmao.

I thought 28 Days Later was a scary movie. The old version of The Haunting, Stephen King movies (the old ones), early Jason movies. The old version of The Hills Have Eyes. When you go into the video store ask the people there what they would recommend. Good luck.

here's a few that might do the trick...the others, night of the living dead,Blair witch project, the ring, the shining, ghost ship, Shawn of the dead. there's a few, some of these it's more messing with your head than visual, which i think is more scary than seeing it.
