the reason ppl cannot do it is b/c they are afraid of taking ALL their body weight onto their hands.
You know the song, "Head, shoulders, knees & toes" well that is about alignment. So if you go upside down, you still have to be aligned.
Just as the toes control your actions when you walk and stand...the fingers control the same when you go up side down.
Practice doing hand stands with a wall as your brace. this will develop your upper body and get you mentally prepared for taking your own weight. Do this for as many days as it takes you to feel comfortable and in control.
then move 2-3 inches away from your intial starting point and practice the hand stand. Keep moving away from the wall in small increments as you acquire motre contro of your body.
A cartwheel is fun and can be done fast. but it is better to be able to control moves at slower speeds.
the rythym of a cartwheel is "hand, hand, foot, foot."

I learned in my High School gym class. We had gymnastics for a quarter and I was so happy I could do it I did 100 of them. Then the big final exam came and I got my period and had terrible cramps for the first time ever. I ended up doing a really sideways terrible cartwheel and got a C. lol. memories.....

I learned it very young. I had an interest in watching girls do them. I was able to persuade some of them to teach me how to do cartwheels. Thrilling for such a young man.
