Thanks for the great info so far! The pool is 17x38 and is a rectangle with steps leading out of the shallow end.

I think 12 grand is a wee bit on the optomistic side. You don't give a pool size, but on a 18 x 36 for example, replastering alone will be about 10 grand. Tiling that size will be another 1500 to 2000 dollars. Then there's the coping. Flag will cost a leg, bull nose or tile being cheaper. Add at least another 2000- 2500 there. That's all pretty lowball.
Your best bet is to have a builder come in for a free estimate. He can see what I can't. Sometimes they have tile and bull nose kicking around, enough to do one pool only and will lowball the price to get rid of it .Who knows.

depending on a lot....tile of your choice, coping, plaster x the square footage/perimeter of your pool.

having all of this done it should not cost anymore than 12 thousand dollars.
