There never was a true group called the Archies - they were all a bunch of studio musicians with the lead male vocalist being Ron Dante. Dante does the oldies circuit now with a back-up group which knows all the Archies songs, but as far as being that particular group - no such creature ever existed. Actually, you could probably think of the group backing him now as being the closest thing there ever was to a true Archies group. Dante also does a large number of television commercials.

Yes, I know it's an old post... Ron Dante is still in there touring as "Ron Dante of The Archies". He does road shows with other artists and goes on cruises. He's 71, still looks 45 and hasn't missed a beat.

I don't know about now, but in the late 80's Kevin Currin, the keyboardist, worked at the National Security Agency with me.
