You could try cleaning the little rubber rollers inside. Use a slightly damp cloth, you don't want to slosh water in your printer.

Just make sure all your paper is totally smooth, no wrinkles or bends. Have enough paper in your intake and check to see if it has any foreign objects inside the printer. If you have anything sharp or hanging out, this may cause a snag. Any of these can cause the paper to snag and jam. Make sure the paper is tight. There is an adjustment that will snug up the paper stack, so it won't be wobbling into the printer. If you continue having jams, take it back and exchange it. There could be something that shouldn't be there, and its causing the jamming. Remember to snug up the stack, so it goes in straight and tight.

Yes, it's because HP use cheap mechanism to reduce prices. Before hitting your printer, which can cause yourself injured, try to clean it periodically, I mean, internal cleaning, can be done by technician, and use at least 70 gsm paper.
If you ever experience paper jam condition, perhaps some paper left when you pulling out the jammed paper, this often happen, and can cause continuous intermittent subsequent paper jam.
Open back cover, and try to inspecting is there any small piece of paper left there. Or ask local technician to help.
Don't use thick photo paper, HP new mechanism are worse than previous type.

Hope this help.
