I'm using IE 7 Beta 4 and often when I close my IE windows I get an alert which reads,

iexplore.exe - Application error

The instruction at "0x6c371351" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Do you face similar problems. Please let me know. Is there any way of getting Microsoft's help in this problem? Thankyou.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed IE7 Candidate 1 in my PC. The alert problem still persists. By the way, what is this 'candidate' thing?

you'll get more focused help here in the ie7 group

★★ MICROSOFT PRODUCT DISCUSSION GROUPS ★★
◙ Here are hundreds of Discussion Groups for Microsoft products such as Internet Explorer, Outlook, Outlook Express and the list goes on and on. There is even a discussion group for the new Internet Explorer 7 beta.

◙ You'll need to signup for an MSN Passport Account to use these groups. But it's really worth your time. You'll receive better help here than anywhere. But if you didn't pay for the product it might be smart not to mention it here. If you want help that is.

This is why it's still in the Beta Version, this is too work out the bugs and to fine tune it before the actual release of the Final Version.. Microsoft should be providing a Beta Forum to resolve issues and report them, but since I have not, AND will not fix something that isn't broke, in other words, I do not use it, then I could not tell you where to seek the answers you are looking for, I do know I have redone a couple of computers that were trashed from Beta Testing, it even tells you in the fine print before downloading, that this is Beta and should be used with caution and tested in it's own environment, on a system not used for everyday purposes. The Candidate Feature is a potential release to the public if all goes well on the feedback side of things, Microsoft uses the feedback from tester's on a strong basis to decide to release, upgrade, or trash a project, find the feedback place for this product and input your opinions, they do count... I personally have never like Internet Explorer and I do not use it.... Sometimes the Pinto Car is better then the Cadillac, Good Luck

When you signed up for the beta, hopefully they told you where to send bug reports. Microsoft should want to hear about your problems.

I know it's not exciting but you could go back to IE 6.

candidate and beta are term used to designate version of a software that aren't "finished products" that could have compatabitity issues that could call problems on your computer. Unless you are good at solving issues that pop up stay away from such forms of software.

No! It relies upon on what you do the vast majority of the time on the internet. once you're reading approximately quantum mechanics than no, once you're staring at mindless youtube movies for hours on end then sure.
