Open up a command prompt, and issue an attrib command:

attrib -R

Right click, properties, then uncheck the box (archive, read only or whatever.)
Also at a command prompt input 'attrib -r -a -s -h'
That gets rid of all file protection.

They have programs that you can download to remove file protection but I'm not sure if that's legal one that I know of is soundtaxi
