Since it's late into summer, I'd do Hawaii now. Then in late Spring or early next Summer you can go to Alaska as long as it's not the coldest time of year there.

Take the Alaskan cruise, and FLY to Hawaii. Cruising is not as much fun as it sounds...in Alaska, you stop every day at small villages filled with fun places. IN Hawaii, rent a car and drive the Island...more fun. Have been to both, Maui is great for a 7 day trek...rent motorcycles and do the volcano, OR take the bike ride DOWN the volcano...lots of fun. I enjoyed both greatly, but cannot imagine cruising to Hawaii...what a bore!

Sounds life one of you will have to bend a little. If necessary perhaps flip a coin and whoever wins that is where you vacation. Of maybe this year you go on Alaskan cruise and next year see Hawaii. Tough decision to have to make but I positive that a comprimise will be found and both of your wants will be met. Whichever have a nice vacation.

I think that you should vacation 4 days in Hawaii and then take a 4 day cruise to alaska. This way you both can enjoy both trips and have fun!

I've lived in both places. Both are wonderful, but I would definitively say Alaska is the richer experience.
The middle ground would be somewhere approximately several hundred miles off the northern California coast in the Pacific. Not many restaurants there.
Have a great time whatever you do and remember what they say..."If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." *S*

Either flip a coin for the Alaskan or Hawaiian cruise or
compromise on something else such as a Caribbean Cruise.
good luck on whatever you do.

why not both?
You have 2 weeks of vacation a year ?
try doing both -Alaska is great during the summer and Hawaii is great in winter.Seems to me you just need to talk and work out when you want todo both trips. makes little sence whining and complaining on what to do whe nbot hare there for the taken.

Yeah, your the man, punch her in the face. Men rule the world, tell her to shut her freakin face or she can store her teeth in a shot glass from now on. Chances are your are paying for the entire trip anyway, while she spends her day driving around in her SUV going from shopping mall to shopping mall, instead of working.
