It's just to allow you to view answers to questions you may be interested in.
Look right under your question, there is a cross, ( beside the thumbs up and down, and report abuse, email to friend ) click on that ( cross ) and " add to watch list ", When you log on , you will be able to see who or what is on your watch list. Actually you can go to it any time

These people are all wrong.... it is really a secret method used to spy on people that originated during the cold war with televisions. When you check a particular question and add it to your watch list it does two things: first it keeps the question on your main Q & A page (everybody knows this) BUT the second thing it does is (top secret info that few people know) that it install a small program that allows people to use your monitor as a "spy camera" of sorts (even while your computer is off) to "watch" you.
It may seem difficult to believe that your monitor functions as a two-way device (both displaying information and also allowing a second party to view you) but it is 100% true.
I hope this helps! (Remember that when you sit in front of the computer naked - some of us can see!)

So you can keep an eye on questions that interest you. Say I saw a pirates of the carribean question, and the person who posted seemed cool, I'd add the question and get to their user look up through there, I sometimes answer the same questions as people in my watch list, because if they like similar things they would answer questions that interest me. You know? And to just see if you get best naswer in a question you put a long answer to.
hope I've helped.

Alright, well, the watch list is for when you can't answer a question at the moment but want to later. Or if you want to check the responses. Just say "add this question to my watch list" right next to a question.

Like lets say someone wanted to know how to turn a photo black and white using photo shop, and you didn't know, but it'd be cool to find out...
you'd put it on your watch list so that when people answer with the info, you can read it and learn too!

When you put a question on your watch list, it tells you whenever there's a new answer.
