It is important in any thing we do. Carelessness is a big cause for a lot of injuries. In an automotive shop,, you want to work on the car without getting hurt yourself, or hurting anyone else. If you don't put a jack under the car properly and it slips, someone under the car could get hurt. If you close the door while running an engine someone could get carbon monoxide poisoning. If I'm working on the electrical system and don't handle the battery right I could get a nasty shock. Did you ever shut a door on a finger?? Ouch! One time I was going to go outside and someone shut the garage door down on my head. Spilled oil is slippery,, there's a good workmen's compensation suit.

Safety first!

Watch the video called "Remember Charlie" or work in the Rehabilitation Hospital for a couple of years observing how people will never be the same as before-no matter how many years of therapy they are going through

It's not about you at all... it's about money. Should you get hurt due to the fault of your employer, he is liable to you for damages.
