Netscape mail now AOL?

Im trying to access my netscape mail but now its saying because of changes, I have to register with AOL. Is this necessary? WHats going on?

So why is it that when I try to log on into my netscape mail, it takes me directly to an AOL register page?

no u dont need to register with aol, since aol has nothing to do with netscape.
