Well I can hear the soundwaves or whatever you call that, I can tell if the TV was on even if it's on mute, and I was wondering if anyone else can hear the TV signal? Is my hearing to sensitive?

I don't hear the actual sound coming from the shows, it's from the TV device itself!

Are you a teen? Studies have shown that teens can hear higher pitches than adults such as those put out by electronics. A piece of trivia for you: A store in a mall developed a sound system that put out a pitch so high only the youth and animals could hear it. They did it to deter teens from loitering around their shop. Now certain cell phones will market that tone so the teens can hear it in class but the teacher can't.

And yes I can hear the TV on mute. I can even distinguish the words if I am close enough. I also used to tell if my computer monitor was left on at night from my bedroom just from the "ringing" of it.

p.s. I found an article about this: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5434687

This is shocking to me. 1) Paying attention to the fact that there are those who can and have taken the time to look it up and talk about it. This was my first time looking it up. I'm shocked because, my question wasn't going to be can you hear but why? I didn't know there were people who couldn't hear it. Further more I guess I already know why or can speculate FCC REGULATIONS. True your device is muted, black, has no video it is however still broadcasting. It's like playing loud music and you get the ringing effect. Same thing audio levels are being tweaked, tweak the right audio level and well for those of you can hear it you get me. It's digital your digital. Yea old uhf and vhf are broadcast signals but the device is still digital. It is ultimately always broadcasting there is just no audio in the broadcast

must be or if yet another television develop into on interior the domicile or in case you have close buddies you have got heard them or a telephone that may not have been hung up must be greater logical motives. If that's the 1st time having those stories and have lived interior the domicile for a whilst and have not achieved vast redesigning then I particularly doubt that's ghosts. I even have had a lot of experience with the magical I even have lived and presently stay in a haunted domicile.

Sometimes I can just hear that an electronic device is on in the house and try to find it and trurn it off even if it is not in use, but you cannot hear the sound of the TV voices can you? Sound should not be comming out of the speakers. I hear well too and it is bothersome. Try to turn off all electronics they are not good for you anyway and waste electricity.

Impossible, when you turn your tv in mute, all the audio circuits shut down, therefore you will hear no sound at all, however if you hear something is only the hum of the flyvac (high voltage).. cyb

No. The mute button only turns off the sountracks, but the machinery of the TV itself is still audible.

Sorry for all the people that didn't seem to read your question..

I'm guessing you mean the electrical signal that emits from most CRT devices (TVs, Computer Monitors, etc.)

That's normal, and it doesn't mean your hearing is too sensitive.

If you DON'T hear it, then you are losing your hearing, or you have a newer TV.

No, i understand what you mean and i can do that too. It's like, you can tell when a tv is on even if you're in another room. I know some people who can't do that but i know i can, and you can lol. it's just kinda weird. I don't know what it is though. I guess it has to do with our hearing.

It depends on the T.V., the TV in my room, when on mute, I can still hear it, if it's quiet in my house. But the TV in my living room, I can't hear at all when it's on mute.
