There is an old movie called Radio Flyer that came on Family channel last night. It has Tom Hanks narrating a story (to his sons) about when he was a little boy, and the trouble him and his little brother got into. Elijah Wood plays his younger version. I missed the very beginning of the movie. I started watching when Bobby, Mike and their mom moved in with "the king." What happens before that? What happened to their real dad, and why did they start living with their aunt? And why was Tom Hanks telling his children this story?

Tom Hanks(if I remeber this movie correctly) was the older brother in the story and he was telling his sons about their uncle bobby. They were living with their aunt because they were poor. And I can't remember the begining of that movie...you should go to the video store and rent it, it's a worth it movie...actually now I want to see it again..lol.

i remember that movie i cn it alot a long time ago i think the real dad died and the bf was abusin the kids and the mom and this new guy comes to the door while the mom and bf r fightin and he stops the bf and beats him up so then the bf leaves and i believe it is mel gibson is the new guy. i rem they had a tree house and they were the kids were into flyin and they made their own airplane and the younger kid flies away at the end and never comes back and thats y tom hanks is telling the story to his kids bout thier uncle his brother

Yes it had Elijah Wood.In the beginning it was telling an old urban legend how a guy ramped over a house on his bike and hit a plane.It was a great film.

I remember that movie i used to watch it when i was a kid every week end at my dad's. I even tryed to make one myself *giggle*! that didn't work. If you are looking for buy it then i'd go to target - they sometimes have old movies for lesser prices. Or go online and order it. I don't know if it's out on dvd though.

yea because the strp dad beat one of them up and he made the radio flyer to fly away because at the end the mom was like where is your brother

i forgot about that movie. I remember liking it. I dont remeber the bgining, but I think the dad was killed some how.
