would there be a sense of humour about re-allocation? would everyone get to try out another faith? do we have to try them all before we are wise and rounded enough to achieve Nirvana???

I do believe in reincarnation, but I think we sort out the why's and wherefore's ourselves, depending on what we still have to learn

According to buddhist teachings you don't have to try every faith. The buddha actual calls believing anything on faith or word of mouth etc. ignorance (not in a demeaning way, it just means you don't know any better).

Buddhism isn't the only religion that believes in Reincarnation.

So does Judaism, read the Kabbalah.

Reincarnation in Buddhism is also not the same as Rebirth in Buddhism.
