My friend doesn't think she needs to go with Yahoo, aol or any other server. Whats the best deal for her?

i don't think Yahoo is a server, is it? It's just a website, not an Internet Service Provider. Yahoo is like an attraction, not the actual car to get you there.

No one NEEDS Yahoo, it is just for information, games, etc. If she uses Yahoo she should be sure to have a good pop-up blocker, anti-spy software and anti-virus software, or else she will get a ton of pop-ups and other garbage that will mess up her computer. I quit using My Yahoo and many other Yahoo services because my computer was taken over while on Yahoo. It can happen any time you are on the Internet, but it seems to be especially bad with Yahoo.

Well that depends what your friend wants exactly. For instant messaging she'd be best off with Windows Live Messenger, which would allow her to communicate with MSN and Yahoo contacts. As for what's the best deal, that doesn't really matter when it's free.

She doesn't need to but Yahoo! is free and has some cool stuff on it. AOL is a rip-off.

Have her check with her telephone company for a wireless or high speed internet. She doesn't need yahoo or aol.

The Best Idea Would Be Yahoo High Speed With At&t. It is cheap and reliable. Don;t Go To WOW or anything. WOW Sucks!!

if she wants to communicate with people she can sign up with aol, msn messenger or yahoo.

you don't need to signup for anything online. you can just surf around.
best thing to do is just wait and see what looks the best.
