I think it's terrible how young muslim women who are passionate about sport are prevented from playing their sport because of their culture?

The article made interesting reading, particularly the comments from the girl who says her relations will probably stop her playing sport when she reaches 18. Under UK law she is totally free to do as she pleases at that age, so you have to ask how they will do that. Incidentally, you won't find women even watching a football match in Saudi Arabia.

Muslim Women can do sports, but without showing their bodies to stangers; that is according to their relegion and not to their culture.
If you have visited any of the Islamic Countries in Africa or Asia, you will find women doing sports, as they are special times for women in Gym, swimming-pools to do sports, also they are special swimming-suits for veiled women to wear, and swim in the sea.
About what mentioned at the BBC news report is related to muslim women that can't participate at the official games, as their body will be shown to others, and that's of course is not allowed at the Islam.

Muslims cannot show their body parts openly especially for females. How are they to compete when they need to wear shorts and singlets or swimming attire to take part in sports unless the spectators are confined to their own sex?Maybe for some events they can wear trackpants but won't the attire be in the way?

it's not realy true,Islam encourage sport but the fact is that sport wearing is not respectable for à sport muslim woman. no any society of sport wearing had though about the probleme .

That is pretty unfair, take that athlete Bulmerka, she had to train outside Algeria because she wasn't allowed to train in her shorts there, and she was still willing to compete for them.
