yeah my dad made my mom change mine and give the dog the bad one my mom wanted to name me. I have always liked my name and thought it fit me. I just do not like it when someone says it in a bad way. I feel it is abuse of my name.

My middle name sucks, but I had to have that for my grandma, so did my mom. It is a good thing I do not have a bad 1st name. I know when I hear my middle name I was introuble. I hate my last and middle, but love my 1st so I thank my dad for that. One of his best things.

Yes, I like my name, now. As a child I didn't like it because it wasn't common. But, now, as an adult I love my name because I don't run into too many people with my name, and on the occasion that I do (because I have), it's never spelled the same way. I was named after my dad, his name is Ben, so my parents named me Benita, which means blessed in Latin.

Yes. My name is Veronica. It means "True Image".

Saint Veronica was a pious woman of Jerusalem, who moved with pity as Jesus carried his cross to Golgotha, gave him her kerchief that he might wipe his forehead. Jesus accepted the offering and after using it handed it back to her, the image of His face miraculously impressed upon it. The name "Veronica" itself comes from the Latin Vero Icone, or true image (of Jesus Christ).

The Catholic Encyclopaedia of 1908 had this to say about the growth of the legend (translations in italics added):

The belief in the existence of authentic images of Christ is connected with the old legend of Abgar of Edessa and the apocryphal writing known as the Mors Pilati (Death of Pilate). To distinguish at Rome the oldest and best known of these images it was called vera icon (true image), which ordinary language soon made veronica. It is thus designated in several medieval texts mentioned by the Bollandists (e.g. an old Missal of Augsburg has a Mass De S. Veronica seu Vultus Domini) (of the holy Veronica/Saint Veronica, or the Face of the Lord), and Matthew of Westminster speaks of the imprint of the image of the Savior which is called Veronica: Effigies Domenici vultus quae Veronica nuncupatur (effigy of the face of the Lord which is called a Veronica). By degrees, popular imagination mistook this word for the name of a person and attached thereto several legends which vary according to the country.

To Veronica likewise are traced other relics, of the Virgin Mary, that have been venerated in several churches of the West. St. Veronica is commemorated on Shrove Tuesday, but her festival is not of obligation. The popular modern name for this relic, which is venerated at the Sudarium of Oviedo among other shrines, is "Veronica's Veil". The moment was incorporated into the Stations of the Cross as the sequence was stabilized in the late 16th century. Mel Gibson's film The Passion of the Christ (2004) included an episode of Veronica wiping Jesus' face.

Yes. I actually legally changed my name from Elwood Delany to Elwood Jake Blues in 1962, at the same time my pal Jake Papageorge changed his to Jake Elwood Blues. That is when we became The Blues Brothers.

And I wouldn't change a thing.

Yes I do. My parents got it from a Latin prayer, and I think it's unusual but pretty. Besides, I'm ust thankful I didn't get stuck with the names of some people I've heard about - Dweezil? Moon Unit?

it's alright. it's a regular name, but not overly common, unlike so many names out there today. i don't understand people creating names for their kids, or likewise giving popular names to their kids. they'll either spend a lifetime correcting people on proper pronunciation/spelling, or they'll be one of 5 kids in their class with the same name. sorry, all you jacobs, emmas, and jacks - it's true!
