The website to look at is http://www.speed-light.info/

In there, a "detailed" proof is presented which is not really thorough and complete due to the assumptions made and possibly also that the theory is wrong. Please clarify whether there is any truth in it.

Overall its very suspicious.

Of course its suspicious. Its more than suspicious, it is transparently silly. All after the fact numerology relies on the fact that one can retrospectively find "remarkable" coincidences, if you substitute convenient numbers for vague words.

In science, this is why all experiments --or good experiments-- must define their hypotheses and expectations prospectively, that is, _before_ you've gathered the data. It is nearly always possible, after you've gathered the data, to find "some curve that fits"-- but its just reifying noise.

In the case of this "proof" there are obvious fudges-- such as the massaging of numbers to "remove the influence of the sun's gravitational field" from the "earth-moon system".

Note also that the entire rickety enterprise is grounded on one line in the Quran "Then this affair travels to Him a distance in one day, at a measure of one thousand years of what you count." -- which is hardly so precise a statement as the author of the "proof" would claim.

With such "massaging" 3 can equal 5 any time you choose. . . its much as Wolfgang Pauli once commented "it doesn't even rise to the level of being wrong".

Foremost Quran is not a book of scientific studies. But yes it does unlock many things recently discovered by modern science.

This article is very good http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/actionnetwork/A6865743

The web site link you have given itself gives u detailed information about the knowledge of speed of light and also the knowledge that light travels at various speeds in different mediums.

Also if you just search the net you will find many articles about it.

But once again , Quran is not a book of scientific studies. But the fact is what looked like fairy tales , does get proven over time as modern science keeps discovering that Quran had already ascertained that fact 1400 years ago.

WELL...U PEOPLE SAID THAT OUR HOLY BOOK DOES NOT PROVE THE SPEED OF LIGHT BUT LET ME TELL U ONE THING THAT IT PROVES THE SPEED OF LIGHT MORE THAN ANY THING AND THERE IS A HOLY STORY TO PROVE IT.AND WHEN U PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT OUR RELIGION AND OUR HOLY BOOK SO,PLEASE DON'T TYPE UR COMMENTS OR ANSWERS TO THOSE QUESTIONS RELATED TO OUR RELIGION AND HOLY BOOK.I RESPECT UR RELIGION SO U SOULD RESPECT OUR RELIGION BECAUSE THE SCIENCE IS DERIVED FROM OUR HOLY BOOK.U SHOULD READ THE HOLY QURAN IF U WANT ANY PROOF.
AND NOW GIVING U PEOPLE THE PROOF THAT THE HOLY QURAN DEDUCED THE SPEED OF LIGHT.
WHEN OUR HOLY PROPHET WENT TO THE 7TH SKY THE NIGHT IS SAID TO BE SHAB-E-MIRAJ WHICH MEANS THE WHEN OUR HOLY PROPHET WENT TO MEET ALLAH(GOD)(I KNOW U R NOT GONNA BELIEVE)HIS TWENTY YEARS PASSED BECAUSE WHEN THE ANGEL OF DEATH CAME TO HIM HE ASKED THE ANGEL THAT ALLAH PROMISED HIM THAT I WILL LIVE TILL HE WILL BE 90(AT THE TIME OF DEATH HE WAS 63).THEN THE ANGEL REPLIED THAT U R 90 RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WHEN U WENT TO THE SKY IN SHAB-E-BARAT U LOST UR 17 YEARS.
SO,NOW YOU WON'T NEED A PROOF.AND I HOPE U PEOPLE WOULD NOT TALK ABOUT OUR RELIGION AND OUR HOLY BOOK "QURAN" ATLEAST(I HOPE).AND IF NEED ANY PROOF U SHOULD READ OUR HOLY BOOK "QURAN".
AND ATLEAST U WOULD WRITE "THE HOLY QURAN".
I THINK THIS IS THE BEST PROOF U WOULD EVER NEED TO BELIEVE.

Nothing like this,
Speed of light depends upon the density of the thing from which it is travelling. So speed of light reduces when it passes through water or anything which has density more than vaccum.
It travels fastest in vaccum.

Interesting coincidences , some of which can be paired with modern science...
Kind of like the predictions of Nostardamus...
Taken with a liberal enough interpretation, they can pretty much
be made to match with modern facts & history..
