The idea is you don't let it die, you take care of it. Even if it died, you simply burry it like any animal. A rabbit isn't "troublesome", the mostly live in a cage, eat, drink and you need to clean the cage. Other than that, it's pretty simple. Your mom might be concerned she'll end up taking care of it. If you are responsible, and will be the one to take care of it, maybe she'll change her mind.

Rabbits and BUNNIES are nice pets.
I would suggest you get a DWARF Bunny. They stay pretty small.
No one should get a pet and wonder, WHAT IF IT DIES?
You do need to read up about HEALTH and FEEDING, and HOUSING of a bunnies.
Bunnies are very clean they lick themselves like cats to get clean.
However, it is the urine that has a smell to it and stains WHITISH and sort of crystallized like salt.
Make sure where ever you put the cage will have some air but not a COLD DRAFT.
Bunnies can get colds and die from respiratory problems.
But if kept healthy and happy and SAFE your bunny should live 10 years or more.
You need to read up on rabbit care to see if YOUR area is comfortable for a bunny to live in year around, I do not know what Singapore is like, so you need to research.
Look at the sites below, Look at Basic Rabbit Care
AND
Learn more about each Rabbit:
Your mom might be concerned on how you will feel IF the bunny dies. Or if you cannot handle the responsiblity.
LEARN and show her you can.
All animals and of course people die.
YOU need to explain that you want to learn how to care for something and learn about it's life cycle including death when it comes.
When death comes you can either bury it in the yead in a deep hole...if you have a dwarf bunny it will be a 3-4 foot deep hole.
The remains of the body will go back to earth and give nutrition to plants, maybe you can plant a pretty flower there to remember your bunny. You can see the flowers grow and remember that bunnies life goes on now in the flowers.
It might be that you do not have spaces like that where you live.
Do you have vet hospitals?
They will take your bunny there but they do not give them a NICE RESTING PLACE, they cremate all bodies together.
But that is one way to do it, also.
Some people here in the answers, like myself, are not familiar with your customs, all people have different outlooks on death and dying.
Here in the USA we have pet cemeteries for people who LOVE their animals and want them to have a peaceful resting place.
Some also cremate.
Some bury in the cemetery and others might use a freeze dry taxidermy service, which is expensive.
So read up on ALL the things you need to know, about care, feeding, housing, training, illnesses and how to prevent them.
AND also about Death when it comes.
Get all the knowledge you need before you ask MOM again for the bunny, and show her how much you learned.
Show her how responsible you want to be.
I hope that helps.
Also Rabbit poop does not smell, it also makes great fertilizer in gardens. It is the urine that smells, but you will keep it clean.
