They're not Celebrities, rather ATTENTION SEEKERS, now Mother Teresa was a true Celebrity, get my drift?

God knows. I hate this 'celebrity' culture.
I find it so sad that people would rather focus on which film star has put on weight or which soap star is getting divorced, than their own lives & 'real' people around them. Is reading about Charlotte Church's weight really more rewarding than helping a friend or neighbour?
If you feel bad about yourself, do something about it (join a gym, take up an evening class, meet people), instead of bitching about others.

I never buy them, but I'll definitely flick through if my friends buy them... it is quite sad I admit, but seeing celebs with spots, or with cellulite or caught unawares without their make-up and their hair done, helps make us women feel a bit better about our own flaws and appearance... also, we can pick up tips about the latest trends etc... basically its a lightweight diversion, a form of escapism and an outlet for a good rant: "would you look at the state of her!" lol

Maybe wishful thinking or sheep syndrome, some have to follow others just cause they can, do not know what women see in these celeb magazines at all, insulting and dangerous in my opinion.

We wish we looked like the pretty girls, and get a kick at being better than the over-skinny ones/ones with cellulite/someone with a slight sweat stain on their armpit.
Yes it's pathetic, but it's all we have.

i know i'm a teenage girl and i'd much rather read something that gives information rather than gossip and embarrass. These "celebraties" are just normal people who get they're lives made a living hell because of magazines like that!

A bit of light relief, i usually only get Grazia though as it keeps me up to date with what's going on.
I also buy the FT and Investment mags.

It's vouyerism of how the other half lives. It is quite sad because it just makes you feel fat, poor and unglamourous. However they sell in the millions so the public sadly lap it up.
