-x-x=-6x+20 add the two terms on the left side
-2x=-6x+20 add 6x to both sides
4x=20 divide both sides by 4
x=5

Now **you** do the rest of them because, if you don't, you'll never get used to algebraic manipulations and you won't have the remotest clue about what's going on in another couple of months.

-x-x=-6x+20+2x
-2x=-4x+20
-2x+4x=20
2x=20
20/2=x
x=10

the other guy forgot the +2x
