I have not read the story yet but I think no body should be branded as career women or career men. If men should not marry career women then women should also not marry career men. Life is not only fulfilling one's career but leaving behind some little thing for the predecessors, for the society. If we fail to follow this, we will fail measurably in our life. In my opinion, providing a healthy and better childhood to the kids is the first and foremost duty of any parent. Neglecting this duty for career is the worst kind of crime and must be punished. However, this crime can possibly be committed by either of the parent. Then why warn only men, warn the women as well.

If you're career minded, the focus will be on the career and not upon the family. One or the other will ultimately suffer as the career takes a priority or the family does. It is impossible to make both happy, in the age of pagers, cell-phones, text messages, laptops, and working at home. After the 8 hour shift at work coming home at 6:00 to your family, and then getting a page that takes 2 hours to solve from work, leaving you an hour to interact with your family before the children have to go to bed. This is what we live in today. Families no longer allowed to be families.

Men who do not want to marry career women, should not do so. There are plenty of men who do want to marry career women.

Every woman should have a master's degree.

Career women can still be good mothers. They will need reliable daycare centers and husbands who share in child rearing. Some couples may choose not to have children.

I think someone made a mountain out of a molehill. Most men are intelligent enough to make their own choices about the type of woman they will marry. They aren't going to let some journalistic BS sway them one way or the other. More people know about the article than would have if no one made a fuss.

I heard about the article, I have not read it. It may make people mad but I think it is true the more successful a woman is the greater chance for a divorce. The reason is she is not stuck with a bad husband because she does not have any financial options to live on her own. If women in the '50's had money I can guarantee a lot them would have been out the door. You don't leave if you don't have money for yourself and your kids.

If you read the article it states more about statistics than anything. Basically, women that are educated and make more than $30K a year are more likely to divorce. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that they are not held in unhappy marriages because of financial reasons. It never says that marriages in which women don't work are happier.

Ever see the movie Mona Lisa Smile? It is usually an old money concept that still has outlasted the feminist movement and time in general. It is quite unfortunate that even in this day and age that is still even thought of at all let alone encouraged in print.

Forbes being the oldest money around...

No but the title alone sounds like an article straight from the 1950's or 60's

I feel it hardly matters you marry a career woman or a home maker. What really matters is attitude of you both towards life and resolving tiny issues with love and Patience.

It sounds like somebody made up the story, or the Forbes people put it out as a "spoof". People should marry who they want to.
