Your daughter's boyfriend can reverse his vasectomy or he can have his sperm harvested directly from either the testis or epididymis by either percutaneous puncture and aspiration of either organ or open surgical exploration with harvesting of sperm. The numbers and quality of sperm acquired by these techniques are not sufficient to initiate a conception by artificial insemination (placement of sperm in the wife's uterus) but are more than adequate for IVF using intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The combination of these two techniques, sperm harvesting and IVF using ICSI, are highly successful. Pregnancy rates per attempt averages are higher then the reversal of a vasectomy.

They would have to reverse the vasectomy first. Artificial insemination from HIM wont work ,(masturbation into a cup) cause no sperm will be in the ejaculate . Their only chance would be to have it reversed first. And why not adopt? There are sooo many unwanted , beautiful children waiting for loving homes.

My husband's dad reversed his vasectomy after remarrying. They now have two beautiful children. Try the reversal first (more cost effective) or have his sperm inseminated to your daughter. I'm not certain which would be more cost effective, but if insemination is possible, it could control the number of kids they have better and the b/friend won't have to have re-reverse the vasectomy after having kids.

Yes, but the prospects are rather gloomy. Vasectomy repair is a maybe...it depends on the surgical techique used, sometimes the vas deferens is severed or sometimes only ligated. Repair of severed is difficult but ligated is simple. Artificial insemination is possible but is rather painful for the b/f.

First, if they want kids, they need to be married before bringing babies into the world for the stability of the family unit...

That aside, my brother had his vesectomy reversed when he married his second wife - first wife couldn't stand their first child - and proceeded to father four more children to add to his other bio child and 3 adopted children. It is what they BOTH wanted.

I have another brother that has a wife who just went through having her tubal reversed and his vesectomy reversed so they can have children of their own. He has only one bio child, she has three he has adopted. It is what they BOTH wanted.

If either of them is reluctant to have children or go through the procedure, they should not bring children into this relationship - it would only tear up a family and leave a child with only one parent.

a vasectomy is not 100% reversible. If it's less than 7 years you have about 10% not 100% like they say. However, there are other methods to transfer sperm.

He should get his vasectomy reversed. Then they can do it in their time. If he won't do that... he probably doesn't want kids and he's not letting her know.

He got a vasectomy for a reason.

Your saying that your daughter and her boy friend want children. Tell them to get married first.
