They are saying that you are gay. Only you can know if this is an insult, but the person saying it probably means it as one.

I dont think its an insult its just a nicest way you are sweet coz they called you fruit....but depends on what kind of fruit they called you. It can be sour or sweet or bla..you decide..

no its not an insult, well depends on how they said it just like any other word..u can call someone crazy jokingly or you can call them that when really meaning it...but i doubt anyone woud call someone "fruit", really seriously...
