The solids in cow's milk will congeal at a temperature below the boiling point of water. As these calcium rich solids precipitate out, they'll settle on the bottom of your kettle. There due to the heat, they undergo yet another reaction and result in a very calcium hydrocarbon sludge that will make your kettle unsuitable for any other use, as it will be tough to clean.

You can heat milk in a kettle, but don't bring it to boiling. You can scald milk (150 deg F) with no precipitation, and that is more than enough to make your hot chocolate (anything over about 120 is going to burn your mouth).

I don't know,
Why can't milk be boiled in a kettle ?
It may be more difficult to clean a kettle or stir the
milk when it boils but I don't know what that has
to do with being able to boil milk in a kettle...
Take the top off..
It should work just fine...

Why can't you? If you are planning on using this milk for human consumption, you will sour the milk by boiling it!
